Thank you, city of Miami, for this wonderful proclamation
On September 26th, 2024, the Coconut Grove Crisis Food Pantry stood at the center of a very special celebration. At Miami's City Hall, the room buzzed with excitement, filled with community members, lots of our volunteers, and local leaders, all waiting for the City of Miami’s special proclamation.
At the podium (beautifully highlighted with the city seal) was City Commissioner Damian Pardo smiling warmly and ready to present the award.
The proclamation was to honor the 40-year legacy of the Pantry, not only for feeding our neighbors, but also for fostering a spirit of unity and care in the Grove. Among the attendees were many of our volunteers, spanning generations of service. Some have been with the Pantry for decades, while others are recent additions, all united in their commitment to sustaining our mission.
Fittingly, Ms. Brown accepted the award on our behalf, embodying the Pantry's enduring spirit. As one of the founding volunteers, she has remarkably maintained her weekly Tuesday commitment for four decades. Her unwavering dedication sets a powerful example for today and for the future of our organization.

An enduring fixture of The Grove, the Gifford Lane Art Stroll holds a special place in the community's heart. The Art Stroll has been a cherished tradition for 26 years !
We love seeing our T-Shirt around the world and in March it made it all the way to Egypt
Our friends at Temple Judea delivered meals for distribution again this month. These generous folks are long-time partners regularly who cook and package hot meals for our clients. Even covid didn’t stop these cherished allies and we are very grateful.
Throughout the year, our home at Christ Episcopal Church has been going through renovations.
It hasn't caused our volunteers to miss a single week's delivery however.
From the beginning of the year renovations have been going on.
Volunteers still found ways to provide hot meals when needed.
We joined Christ Episcopal Church in celebrating Father Archer’s 10th anniversary as rector.
We appreciate and thank him for his spiritual leadership and steadfast support of our pantry!
We are proud to be partnering with Compost For Life Miami! We join them in their mission "to provide an alternative to our community when it comes to handling food waste. We want to help others, enjoy life, and leave this world better than we found it for this generation and those to come. We truly believe in the power of humanity, and by making small changes in our daily habits, like composting, we all contribute to a greater cause." Please support this excellent program and visit them online! https://compostforlifemiami.com/
We are happy to announce that we are now recycling our cardboard waste! We are very grateful that one of our volunteers has taken on the challenge of delivering our many empty boxes to a city recycling center every week. We can now add both recycling and composting to our efforts to be good stewards of our environment.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who help ready this load of cardboard for its trip to the recycling center!
